Emulsions/Microemulsions

Silicone polymers provide a broad range of performance benefits in many applications including but not limited to lubricity, shine/gloss, chemical inertness, low coefficient of friction, low surface tension, softness, hydrophobicity, substantivity, UV stability, environmental protection and anti-adherence.  Southern Silicones specializes in transforming silicone polymers and allied materials into convenient "delivery vehicles" such as aqueous emulsions, non-aqueous emulsions, dispersions and microemulsions.  These emulsions can be added to formulae, readily diluted with water for further use or combined with other emulsions to produce a virtually endless number of combinations.  Our emulsions span a wide range of polymer molecular weight (a few centistokes to silicone gum) and charge type (nonionic, anionic and cationic). 

                                      

Southern Silicones uses advanced processing and formulation techniques to manufacture silicone emulsions with exceptionally small particle size.  Thin films of many of our silicone emulsion concentrates produce a brilliant blue hue, as shown in the pictures above, indicative of very small particle size.  Small particle size ensures excellent dilution stability and formulation tolerance (inclusion of additional surfactants, salts and other ingredients).  Put our high quality products to work for you!

Industrial Grade Emulsions

E600:  60% Solids Emulsion of 350 cst Polydimethylsiloxane

Applications:  industrial mold release products, tire dressings, vinyl protectants, rubber lubricants
